70IF cont’d: “Apathy isn’t it”

“Apathy isn’t it. We can do something. So flower power didn’t work. So what. We start again.”

John Lennon was killed thirty years ago today. But the principles he stood for are unkillable, and more relevant than ever.

So flower power didn’t work. Nor did unrestrained capitalism, the disastrous years of religious conservatism, or — apparently — the movement that elected a president who seems to show no stomach for defending his progressive ideals.

So what? We start again. And again. And again.
