LIVE from the NYPL: 2010 Fall Preview

Another season of must-see conversations at the New York Public Library. Check out these heavy-hitters:

Not to mention: Justice Stephen Breyer, Zadie Smith, Edwidge Danticat, and Derek Walcott (just for starters), according to the program site. Perhaps, having cancelled last season, Philip Pullman might be well enough to come this year? I hope so.

(I’ve noted before that both Keith Richards and Toni Morrison have had some nice things to say about libraries, so I think it’s no surprise they’ve accepted the invitation. Still — damn. Captain Teague is coming to the NYPL!)

My (partial) wish list: Philip Pullman, Philip Reeve, Neil Gaiman, Ursula K. Le Guin, J.K. Rowling, Ray Bradbury (perhaps sharing the stage with his fangirls), Suzanne Collins, Naomi Novik, Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, Jeff Smith, Christopher Nolan, Hayao Miyazaki, Robert J. Sawyer, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Carolyn Porco, Jill Tarter, Phil Plait, Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, Julie Andrews, Joss Whedon, Robert Downey Jr., Emma Thompson, Dale McGowan, and Tim Minchin. Some of these, please!
